William (Bill) Gilbert Deibler of Newkirk was called home June 22 after a short battle with colon cancer. He was 83 years old.
Bill was born in Manhattan, Kansas on October 18, 1940, to William Gilbert and Leota Mae (Bangert). After graduating from Manhattan High School, he served his country in the US Navy. Bill worked at Conoco as a Refinery Carpenter in Ponca City for 27 years before retiring in 1998.
Bill’s hobbies included a master of woodworking, gardening, camping and most of all hunting and fishing with his boys.
In the summertime you could find our dad in the hayfields raking hay with one of his good friends of almost 19 years, Jerry Ramey.
Bill is survived by his wife of the home Susie, his daughter Jennifer Wooters, sons David (Dawn) Deibler, Brad (Buffie) Deibler, and Brian (Stacy) Deibler, as well as his beloved grandchildren, Ethan Deibler and his fiancé Karly, Boen Deibler, Jackie McConnell (Nelson), Brinley Deibler, and his great granddaughter Kashlynn Merz, and his sister Mary Clayes of Kansas and numerous nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Hospice of North Central Oklahoma in Bill’s name. Thank you to the Renaissance Hospice Staff for taking such great care of our dad.
