Wanetta Zink

Wanetta Lucelle Zink, former resident of the Webb City and Shidler communities, passed Wednesday, October 19, 2011 at the Ponca City Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. She was 86 years of age.

Mrs. Zink was born December 8, 1924 in Kansas, the daughter of Thomas Elmer Guffey and Birdie Ruth Thompson Guffey. She was married to Cecil A. Zink on May 17, 1952 in Jasper, Missouri. The couple had lived over 50 years in the Webb City and Shidler area. She was a longtime member of the Webb City Church of God. Her enjoyments were church activities and singing, gardening, and in earlier years fishing and camping.

She is survived by her three children, Mary Katcher and husband Dan, of Newkirk, Rebecca Zink of Newkirk and Ed Zink and companion Linda Befort of Engels, Kansas. 5 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents husband 5 brothers and 2 sisters.

Services will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, October 24, 2011 at Grace Memorial Chapel. Interment will be in Resthaven Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Grace Memorial Chapel.

Casket bearers will be Brian Brown, Chris Jones, Cody Jones, Tyson Katcher, Lee Shanks and Justin Borror.
