Una Beavers

Una Marie Jones Beavers was born in Alton, Missouri February 13, 1926. She is the daughter of George Osro Jones and Ollie Bell Stotler Jones, the oldest of five children.  Marie passed away on August 16, 2019 in Port Arthur, Texas at the age of 93.

Marie’s family moved to Blackwell, Oklahoma when she was a young girl.  It was in Blackwell she attended school and graduated from Blackwell High School in 1944.  A year out of high school Marie married, her soul mate William Marion Beavers on July 23, 1945 in Newkirk, Oklahoma.  The two of them raised three children, Ronald Kent Beavers, Donald Marion Beavers and Brenda Leigh Beavers. In 1950 they moved their family to Ponca City, Oklahoma. Where she became a member of Sunset Baptist Church. While raising her family she worked for the Continental Oil Company for over 28 years, retiring in 1985.  After the death of her husband in 2009 she moved to Port Arthur, Texas to live with her son Ronald Kent Beavers, Sr. and his wife, Nora.

Left to mourn her passing is her sister; Linda Jean Harris of Boss, Missouri, sister-in-law; Genevere Clements of Edmond Oklahoma, brother-in-law; Thomas Jefferson of McAlister, Ok, three grandchildren and their wives, 10 great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Marie was preceded in death by her husband, children, parents, sisters; Velda Mae Readdy, Wanda Faye Jefferson, and brother; Bob Laverne Jones

Graveside Services will be held at Odd Fellows Cemetery in Ponca City, Oklahoma on Friday, August 23rd, at 10 am with Pastor Dennis Wildman presiding.

She will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and great-great grandmother.  Her memory will be cherished forever.
