Troy Lynn Warrior, resident of Ponca City, passed Thursday, August 25, 2011 at his home surrounded by family and friends. He was 48 years of age.
Troy was born February 18, 1963 in Oklahoma City, the son of Otis C. Warrior and Alma R. Pettit Warrior. He grew up in Oklahoma City and attended Western Heights School. He moved to Ponca City in 1987 and married Brenda Lynn Overland on November 11, 1988 in Red Rock.
His enjoyments included spending time with family and friends, Gourd dancing, disc golf, spending time cooking on the grill for family and friends, playing darts, NASCAR, and watching youngest daughter participate in dancing at powwows. Troy also enjoyed teasing, joking and giving nicknames to family members and friends.
He is survived by his mother, Alma, of Red Rock his wife, Brenda, of the home four children, Robert Davila, Jonathan Warrior, Randa Lynn Warrior and Gabrielle Warrior, all of Ponca City one granddaughter, Jana Warrior his siblings, Susan Warrior Fisher of Arkansas City, Otis W. Warrior of Red Rock, Leda Green of Red Rock, Carla Warrior Sanders of Tonkawa, Preston Warrior of Red Rock and Lelus SpottedCrow of Red Rock numerous nieces, nephews and other extended family.
He was preceded in death by his father, Otis C. Warrior one brother, Thomas SpottedCrow one grandson, Janssen Todd Warrior II.
A noon meal will be served on Sunday, August 28, 2011 at the Ponca Indian Methodist Church followed by the funeral service at 2 p.m., with Rev. Jimmy White presiding over the service. Burial will follow in the Ponca Tribal Cemetery, with arrangements under the direction of Grace Memorial Chapel.
Casket bearers are Kirvin Murray Sr., John Candy DesJarlait, Janssen Todd Warrior, Otis Warrior Jr., Mark Webb and Thompson Zig Warrior.
