Trey Walters

Trey M. Walters, passed away peacefully in his sleep due to heart complications on Friday, September 25, 2009. He was 28 years of age. Trey was born January 17, 1981 in Ponca City. Trey was a 1999 graduate of Ponca City High School, later attending Pioneer Technology Center, taking EMT courses. He also received training from the Prime Trucking School in Springfield, Missouri. He most recently was able to achieve a goal by obtaining his piercing license at the Worlds Only Tattoo School in Shreveport, Louisiana. He was in the process of getting his Oklahoma License. Treys ability to express his gift of art was recognized at Flipping Ink, where he did the drawings for the tattoos. Treys employments included a semi truck driver for Prime Nationwide out of Springfield, Missouri, working on a barge on the Mississippi River and working on several oil fields. Trey enjoyed and excelled in his love of music and art. His other enjoyments included drawing, playing guitar, bass and drums, riding his motorcycle and hunting. He enjoyed spending time with his family watching movies, especially comedy and watching wrestling. Trey never met a stranger. He could walk up to anyone and talk to them like a friend. His appearance looked rough but he was a giant teddy bear inside. He had a big heart and was always willing to help anybody. He is survived by his parents, Charles and Janice Steates of Ponca City; one daughter, Breeley Faith of Ponca City; two sisters, Jessica Steates of Oklahoma City and Kaila Guenther and husband, Matt, of Ponca City; niece Dallas Guenther and nephew, Kayden Guenther, all of Ponca City; aunts and uncles, Ruth and Cliff Lampe of Ponca City, Debbie and Marion Freese of Ponca City, Karen Patten, Lubbock, Texas and numerous other aunts and uncles in the Utica, New York area; cousins Scott and Michelle Curby of Austin, Texas, Christy and Matt Hebb of Arlington, Texas, Kerri and Brayden Dodson of Enid, Oklahoma, Todd and Felicia Patten of Searcy, Arkansas, Shawna and Allan Wells of Frisco, Texas and Jonathan and Amber Haggard of Las Vegas, Nevada; several other cousins in the Utica, New York area. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Bob and Dixie Walters and Charles Steates; aunt Sheri OLeary and uncle Tom Patten; cousins Meagan Walters Lampe, Shane Patten and Riley OLeary. Funeral services will be held at the I.O.O.F. Cemetery Hope Chapel at 10 a.m. Wednesday, September 30, 2009 with family member, Dr. Todd Patten presiding. Please attend the funeral in attire that Trey would recognize you in. Arrangements are under the direction of Grace Memorial Chapel. The family will be at 1300 North Oak. Casket bearers will be Nate Flippin, Cody Morgan, Ron Youmans, Kyle Cox, Jimmy Robertson, Bart Kling, Randy Wilson and Alvis Lampe.
