Tennyson John Overland, 73, of Ponca City, passed away Friday, April 19, 2013 in OKC.
Born on October 8, 1939 in Pawnee, OK to William and Helen Waters Overland. He was a lifelong area resident, veteran of the U.S. Army and member of the Ponca Indian United Methodist Church. He was preceded in death by his parents, sisterAnna Mae, Brothers Tom, Teddy and Odell
Survived by Brenda Overland Warrior of Ponca City, who he raised as his own daughter, Sisters Susie Overland of Ponca City, Sally Gayton of Cleveland, Ohio, Thomasine Martin of Tonkawa, Louis Don Overland of Grand Prairie, TX and Andrew Overland of OKC. Grandchildren R.J. Davila, Jonathan Warrior, Randa Warrior and Gabrielle Warrior.
Wake service will be 7 p.m., Sunday, April 21, 2013 at the Ponca Indian United Methodist Church. Traditional feast will be NOON Monday with funeral services to follow at 2:00 p.m., at the Ponca Indian United Methodist Church with Pastor Jim White officiating. Burial will follow in the Ponca Tribal Cemetery all of White Eagle, OK. Casket Bearers will be Craig Primeaux, Joshua Davis, Daniel Overland, E.J. Calls Him, Albert Cole and Marko Stands Black. Honorary Casket Bearers will be Bill Green, Tennyson Martin, Wheeler Gayton and Ben Waters, Jr.
