Tammy Swopes

d. February 6, 2011

Tonya Kay Tammy Caudill Swopes joined her heavenly father on February 6, 2011. Tammy was born October 18, 1961 to Rita Nelson Caudill and Charles Jim Caudill in Ponca City, Oklahoma.

Tammy graduated from Ponca City High School in 1979 where she was very active as a cheerleader and an excellent student. She also worked at the Poncan Theater while attending high school and worked at Pioneer Bank and Trust in Ponca City and Sykes after graduation until a disability forced her to retire in 1998.

Tammy married Guy Swopes in 1986 and to this union, Tia was born. Tia was Tammys greatest joy and she was very proud of her daughter. One of Tammys favorite things to do was go to the games where Tia was cheerleading. It was a very fulfilling moment in her life to see Tia graduate from Oklahoma State University in May 2010 and to know that Tia was going on to a career in education of future generations.

Even with her disability, Tammy answered the call to care for her mother, Rita, who was invalid in her final days and needed constant attention, but Tammy was able to provide care for Rita until Rita passed away in their home in May 2010. This was very difficult for Tammy as she and her mother were so close for so long.

Tammy is survived by her daughter Tia Swopes of Woodward, her sister Susie Estes and her husband Dennis of Tulsa, her Father Charles Jim Caudill of Claremore, her nephew Brandon Roberts and his wife Whitney of Ponca City, her niece Lacey Roberts of Tulsa, her great nephew Thomas Byford of Tulsa and her great niece Emma Roberts of Ponca City. Tammy is also survived by 2 aunts Peggy Epperson and her husband Richard of Ponca City, Sherry Burdick and her husband Richard of Mulvane, Kansas, and 1 uncle John Nelson of Mannford. Tammy is also survived by her two fulltime Poodle companions, Cupcake and Bailey. Tammy loved her pets.

Tammy was preceded in death by her Mother Rita, in May 2010, her aunts, Darlene Duncan in October 2010 and Carla Fike in February 1995, cousins George Pete Duncan in November 2010 and Donny Duncan in August of 1988.

A memorial service will be Saturday, February 19, 2011 at 10:00 a.m. in the chapel of Grace Memorial Chapel. Tammys final resting place will be at Resthaven Memorial Cemetery.
