Sequoyah D. Grass, 63 of Stillwater, passed away Thursday, May 8, 2014 at the Grace Living Center in Stillwater, OK. Sequoyah was born on July 23, 1950 in Pawnee, OK to Charlie and Martha Williams Grass.
Sequoyah grew up in the White Eagle area. At a young age, he enlisted in the US Navy. He was severely injured on board ship and became 100 disabled. He loved his country but more importantly he loved his family.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one brotherDarrell Grass.
He is survived by his siblings Novalene Shipp of Newkirk, OK, Priscilla Cameron of Ponca City, Cynthia Littlevoice of Ponca City, Mary Sherman of OKC, Goldie Tucker of Ponca City, Thomasine Blue Back of Ponca City, Morgan Grass of Sacramento, CA, Galedia Thick Nail of Ponca City, Angel Thompson of Sapulpa, Kimberly Grass of Ponca City and many cousins, nieces and nephews.
Funeral Services will be 2 p.m., Sunday, May 11, 2014 at the Ponca Tribal Cultural Center with Brother Doug Eagle officiating. Burial will follow in the Ponca Tribal Cemetery of White Eagle, OK. Casket bearers will be Brian Stoner, Jalen Hammy Harris, Carleton Grass, Daryl Youngbear, Charlie Thompson, Kimberly Grass, JR. Honorary casket bearers will be Morgan Grass, Kim Grass, Bill Lord, Albert Littlevoice, Harold Sherman, Willie Buddy Tucker, Michael Thompson, SR, Joe Thick Nail.
