Scotty (Scott) Dale Choate passed away Wednesday, December 7th, at his home in Ponca City, Oklahoma at 58 years old.
Scott was born July 10th, 1964 in Muskogee, to Lee Choate and Berta Cafferty. He graduated from Wagoner High School in 1982.
He was an over the road truck driver for 10 years. He drove for CFI, Schneider, and Banks trucking. He also worked for Pioneer Rental. Scott was an avid sports fan and one of his favorite things to do was watch his son, brothers, and nephews race. He even had his own racecar at one time. He felt like one of his greatest accomplishments was building his son’s racecar.
Scott is survived by his wife Brenda; daughter Amanda Choate of Ponca City; son Kyle Choate and girlfriend Johna Marchesoni of Ponca City; granddaughter Cali and grandson Tyler of Ponca City; his brothers: Kelly and wife Lavonna Choate of Ponca City and Burt and wife Becky Choate of Ponca City, his sister Brecka and husband Brandon Pittman of Coweta; his mother Berta Cafferty, stepmother Kathy Choate of Wagoner; his father and mother in law Gary and Liz Maupin of Newkirk, and his sister in law Dede Maupin of Newkirk. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews, and all of his fur babies.
He was preceded in death by his father, Lee Choate, stepfather Gene Cafferty, brother-in-law Jimmy Maupin, and his sisters in law Lea Maupin-Meyer and Lisa Maupin.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, December 17, 2022, 10am, at Grace Memorial Chapel in Ponca City, Oklahoma. Online condolences may be made at www.gracememorialchapel.net
