Richard Leclair

Richard Hugh LeClair, resident of Ponca City, passed away Sunday, August 26, 2012. He was 49 years of age.

Richard was born December 15, 1962 in Pawnee, Oklahoma, the son of Ed Charles LeClair Jr. and Cornelia Jones LeClair. He was a 1982 graduate of Marland High School. He was a member of the Ponca Nation. His enjoyments were his family, especially his great nieces and nephews as he looked upon them as his grandchildren. He also enjoyed music, basketball, football, being with family and spending time at the Mission.

He is survived by his two brothers, Ed Charles LeClair III of Marland and Samuel D. LeClair Sr., also of Marland, and one sister, Willamina Kate Jones of Oklahoma City 8 nieces and nephews, Shanna Raye LeClair of Ponca City, Kayla Darlene Burgess of Marland, Jerry Reyna Jr., Ponca City, Kyshia J. LeClair, Oklahoma City, Taylor Martin LeClair, Tulsa, Ed Charles LeClair IV, South Dakota, Diane Marina Rose LeClair, Newkirk, and Shayle Nicole LeClair, Ponca City 10great nieces and nephews, William Coulter LeClair, Larissa Devon DeLodge, Ashlynn Michele DeLodge, Keeya Marie Collins, Nate Thomas Collins, Geronimo Quilimaco Jr., Calissa Erin Collins, Braxton Blyden LeClair, KaiYah LeClair and Cornelia Marie LeClair other extended family and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters, Tina Marie LeClair and Patricia Nell LeClair.

Prayer services will be held Monday and Tuesday evening at 7 p.m. at the Ponca Indian Baptist Church. A noon meal will be served on Wednesday, August 29, 2012 also at the Ponca Indian Baptist Church followed by the funeral service at 2 p.m. Rev. Clifford Springwater will preside, assisted by Rev. Lewis Headman and Bro. Doug Eagle. Burial will follow in the Ponca Indian Tribal Cemetery under the direction of Grace Memorial Chapel.

Casket bearers will be Joe Thicknail Jr., Les Williams, Loyd Ray Hinman, Wiley Whitehorn, Al Murray and Dean Russell. Honorary casket bearers will be Jerry Reyna Jr., Taylor Martin, Ed Charles LeClair IV, William Coulter LeClair, Nate Thomas Collins, Geronimo Quilimaco Jr. and Braxton Blyden LeClair.
