Reagan Ray Smith, lifelong resident of Ponca City, passed Tuesday, January 15, 2013 at his home. He was 64 years of age.
Reagan was born October 19, 1948 in Ponca City, the son of George Alta Smith and Betty Jean Offill Smith. He attended the Ponca City Schools. He served his country in the United States Army and was the recipient of the Purple Heart after a 18 month tour of duty in Vietnam. He was married to Sherry Webb on November 28, 1975 in Ponca City. Reagan was employed in earlier years as a welder and maintenance worker with Titus Corporation of Ponca City. He then worked 26 years as a machinist with Smith Tools.
He was a member of the Vietnam Veterans of America. His enjoyments were bass fishing which he dearly loved, cooking barbque, grilling and time spent with his many dogs and grand puppies throughout the years.
He is survived by his wife, Sherry, of the home his mother, Betty Jean Smith, of Ponca City two children, Aaron Smith and wife, Amber, and Tara Gamsjager and husband, Bryan, all of Ponca City one brother, George Smith, and wife, Brenda, of Bartlesville close friends Winston Henry and Dolly Roland of Ponca City many other extended family and friends. He was preceded in death his father George Alta Smith in August of 1980.
A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, January 18, 2013 at Grace Memorial Chapel with Rev. Larry Harris, pastor of Pioneer Bible Church presiding.
