Randy Rhodd

Randy Carl Rhodd passed away on Thursday, September 14, 2017 at St John's Hospital in Tulsa, OK .He was 54 years old. He was born on July 3, 1963 in Joplin, Missouri to Carlton Lemel Rhodd, Sr. and Betty Tahsuda Carr. He worked as a laborer for the local 107 union for many years. He enjoyed singing tribal songs and discussing the old ways of the tribe. He was a Ponca historian learning the old ways from the elders. He is a member of both the Ponca Tribe and the Comanche Nation. His Ponca name was Monh-zhonh nonh-p'ah zhee (Afraid of No Land). Although Randy was never married he was loved by many. He had a big family. He is survived by his sisters Debra Presa and Althea Rhodd both of Tulsa, sisters Carla Carney, Candice Rhodd,and Carlene Rhodd all of Ponca City; one brother Eagle Rhodd of Ponca City; a grandson Levi Billie of Florida ; and a niece Betty Sandoval of Tulsa; as well as numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother Carlton Rhodd, Jr., and one sister Carleda Rhodd.

Traditional feast will begin at noon on Sunday with giveaway to follow. Funeral service will begin at 2pm at the Ponca Indian united Methodist church and burial will proceed at the Ponca Indian Cemetery
