Ralph “Jay” Louis Marcus, Jr., 58, of Ponca City, passed away peacefully at his home surrounded by his family on May 29, 2022. He was born to Addie and Ralph Marcus, Sr. on August 24, 1963 in Sells, Arizona. Ralph grew up in Phoenix and attended Phoenix Indian High School where he graduated in 1981. He lived life the way he wanted and loved his tribal ways of the Ponca And Tohono Oodham Tribes. He was married to Marlene Marcus 14+ years and they remained best friends to this day. Ralph worked many jobs, primarily in the banking and gaming industries.
Those left behind to cherish his memory are his loving family members: mother, Addie Lee Cerre Jacobs and her husband Walter Rosborough of Ponca City; brothers Wayne Marcus and wife Liza of Phoenix, Arizona, Tom Jackson of Scottsdale, Arizona, Greg Hansen of Phoenix, Arizona; sisters Sacena Marcus of Mesa, Arizona and Sara Harris and husband Monte of Shawnee, Oklahoma, Dawn Buffalohead of Marland, Oklahoma. As well as many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and close friends too numerous to name.
Ralph was preceded in death by his father Ralph Sr., stepfather Francis “Dutch” Jacobs, baby brother Thomas Paul Marcus, maternal grandparents Thurman and Delphone Rhodd, paternal grandparents Manual and Alice Andrade Marcus, and a special aunt and uncle Jose and Ena Ramon.
A family service will be held on Wednesday, June 1st, 10 a.m. at Grace Memorial Chapel. Burial will follow at a later date.
