Paul Anthony Stolhand, lifelong resident of Ponca City, passed Saturday, February 2, 2013 at the Sterling House of Ponca City. He was 85 years of age.
Paul was born June 15, 1927 in Ponca City, the son of Anthony Noble Stolhand and Sarah Elizabeth Hooker Stolhand. He attended the Ponca City Public Schools. Paul served his country in the United States Air Force from December 1945 until November of 1948, serving stateside as a Radio Operator. He was married to Leona Maurine Deda on August 13, 1950 in Dewey, Oklahoma. He later married Myrtle Lucille Matthews.
He was employed in earlier years as a carpenter with Conoco, retiring in 1985. He was a member of Sunset Baptist Church and the American Legion. Pauls enjoyments included a great love for fishing.
He is survived by his two sons, David Lee Stolhand and wife, Diana, of Tulsa, and Michael Anthony Stolhand and wife, Pati, of Ponca City two stepchildren, Cindy Manasco, Hot Springs, Arkansas and Brenda Smith of Ponca City three brothers, Dean A. Stolhand, Fred Stolhand and James Edward Stolhand, all of Ponca City 11 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and other extended family. He was preceded in death by his parents two wives two sisters, Viola Palmer and Addie Marie Harris brothers, William Stolhand, Gene A. Stolhand and Lloyd Ellis Stolhand one infant sister, Macquita and one infant brother, Zelus one stepson, Kenny Wolf.
A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, February 6, 2013 at Sunset Baptist Church with Pastor Matt Brown presiding. Interment will follow in the Longwood Cemetery under the direction of Grace Memorial Chapel.
Casket bearers will be Randy Stolhand, Darrell Stolhand, Rick Stolhand, Tony Stolhand, Allen Stolhand, and Jimmy Ware.
