Norma June Hammert, resident of Ponca City, passed Wednesday, April 13, 2011 at her home. She was 78 years of age.
Norma was born March 5, 1933in Oklahoma City, the daughter of William H. and Flora Cline. She was a graduate of Newkirk High School. She attended Stephens College in Columbia, Missouri for one year and then transferred to the University of Oklahoma where she graduated with a B.A. degree. She was a member of the Delta Gamma Sorority. After college she worked at Liberty National Bank in Oklahoma City.
She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Ponca City and the Ponca City Music
Club. Her enjoyments included playing golf at the Ponca City Country Club, playing bridge and all types of games. She enjoyed traveling and had traveled all over the United States, Canada and several other countries. She was a very avid fan of the University of Oklahoma football team.
She is survived by a son, Warren Hammert a daughter, June Lee Hammert, and twin grandsons, Blake Hammert and Justin Hammert a special friend, Lisa Thomas and her daughter, Tini.
Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, April 18, 2011 at the Newkirk Cemetery with First Presbyterian Pastor, Mary Wright, presiding. Arrangements are under the direction of Grace Memorial Chapel.
