Monty French Thompson of Enid, Oklahoma has passed away. He was 55 years old. A memorial service will be held at the Ponca Indian Baptist Church on Friday, July 12, 2019 beginning at 10 a.m. Brandon Kimble will officiate. Burial will follow immediately after at the Ponca Tribal Cemetery of White Eagle. Urn bearers will include Darrin Thompson and Michael Thompson, his brothers.
Monty was born on July 7, 1963 in Enid, Oklahoma to Robert French Thompson and Helena Ruth Williams Gappa. He was educated in Enid Schools graduating from Chisholm High School in 1983. He was a class clown and loved to make people smile. A kind and gentle soul, he enjoyed writing poetry, working out, building anything, and listening to country music. He was descended from James Williams of the Ponca Tribe. After high school. He worked in the oil and gas industry on a pipeline for many years. He always had a smile on his face. He loved his family and wanted to spend time with them as much as possible.
He was preceded in death by his father.
He leaves behind to cherish his memory his daughter Hannah Thompson of Enid, granddaughter Havyn Thompson also of Enid, mother and stepfather Helena and John Gappa of Stillwater, brother Darrin Thompson and his wife Kim of Moore, brother Michael Thompson of Enid, sister Heather Fahlenkamp and her husband Jake of Stillwater, uncle Joe Thompson and his wife Nanetta, uncle Dewayne Williams and his wife Debi, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
