Mildred Neill Keating Adams passed away Friday, February 25, 2011 at the age of 95.

Mildred was born March 29, 1915 on a farm west of Hamilton, Kansas to John Neill and Alma Boydston Neill. She graduated from rural District 89 grade school and in 1933 from Hamilton High School.

She was married to Robert J. Keating. Two children were born to this union, Rozella and Donald Joe. They resided in the Burkett oilfield for several years, then in Emporia, Kansas where Mildred worked for J. C. Pennys. Later she and Denman D. Adams of Council Grove, Kansas were married. They lived in Council Grove for several years, then moved to Clinton, Oklahoma where they owned and operated the Western Motel. Mildred really enjoyed the motel and the people that she met there. After the death of Mr. Adams she moved back to Emporia, Kansas and later to Ponca City, Oklahoma.

Mildred enjoyed socializing, was an excellent cook and homemaker, did all kinds of crafts and loved dancing. She was an animal lover and especially loved cats and cocker spaniel dogs.

She was a member of the Methodist Church.

Mildred is survived by her daughter Rozella Brown and son in law B. J. Brown of Ponca City, Oklahoma, Son Donald Joe Keating of Kansas City, Kansas, granddaughter Christi Keating Mize, grandsons Jeff, Greg and Brad Keating and David and Danny Brown, four great granddaughters and one great, great granddaughter. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Den Adams and one grandson Mark Brown.

A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, March 1, 2011 at the Greenwood Cemetery near Eureka, Kansas. Arrangements are under the direction of Grace Memorial Chapel.
