Michael Rollins Jr.

Michael Douglas Rollins Jr., former Ponca City and Blackwell area resident, passed Tuesday, February 12, 2013 in Tulsa. He was 41 years of age.

Michael was born August 22, 1971 in Tulsa, the son of Michael Douglas Rollins Sr. and Debra Ann Paige Rollins Colburn. The family lived in Stonebluff, Oklahoma with Michael attending school in Haskell, Oklahoma. The family attended church in Stonebluff and Leonard, Oklahoma. After the death of his father in 1977 the family moved to Blackwell to be closer to family. Michael attended the Blackwell schools. He met Michele Freeman in Blackwell where their two sons were born. The family then moved to Nardin. Michaels past employment was at the Tonkawa Foundry, several years at MidAmerican Door Co. and the meat packing company in Ponca City. Michael was also a certified diesel mechanic. He later moved back to Blackwell to be with his parents Debra and Robert Colburn.

He is survived by two sons, Michael Freeman and Jaden Freeman, both of Nardin, Oklahoma his parents, Debra and Robert Colburn of Blackwell two sisters, Shawna Wilson of Marble Hill Missouri, and Shannon Colburn of Fresno, California two brothers, Danny Rollins, Ponca City and Shawn Colburn of Blackwell several other extended family and friends. He was preceded in death by his father.

Funeral services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Tuesday, February 19, 2013 at the First Free Will Baptist Church in Blackwell with Pastor Kevin Bookout presiding. Interment will follow in the Blackwell Cemetery under the direction of Grace Memorial Chapel.

Casket bearers will be Melvin Paige Jr., Shawn Christopher Colburn, Mike Paige, Danny Rollins, Herman Paige and Shannon Barnes.
