Mike LeClair longtime Ponca City resident passed away Sunday morning, May 28, 2017 with his loving wife and family by his side. He was 75 years of age. Mike was born on October 23, 1941 in Ponca City, OK to Antoine and Marie Buffalohead LeClair.
Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Wednesday in the Ponca Indian Cultural Center with Pastor Lewis Headman Officiating. Interment will follow in the Ponca Indian Cemetery with arrangements in care of Grace Memorial Chapel of Ponca City, OK. Casket bearers will be Freddie Others Sr., Joe Brown, Adam Ray LeClair, B.J. DeLodge and J.C. Warrior.
Mike grew up in Ponca City and he attended Marland schools graduateing in 1970 and he attended Chilocco School for a year to learn his Trade of Mason work which is displayed all over Ponca City and Other parts of Oklahoma. Mike also worked for the Ponca Tribe in Distribution for over 15 years. Mike was married to Isabelle Warrior and she preceded him in death in 2007 he later married Darlene Hampton on September 14, 2011 and they made their home in Ponca City, OK. Mike was very active in Ponca Indian Tribal activities such as Playing the Drum and singing at numerous functions. He also served a tour of duty with U.S. National Guard.
Survivors include: wife Darlene of the home., 4 Step Children; Wade Kennon of Nardin, OK, Krista Kay DeMacon of Oregon City, OR, Mark Kennon and Marilyn Sue Poston both of Blackwell, OK, 1 sister; Antoinette LeClair of Ponca City, OK and numerous Nieces and nephews.
Mike was preceded in death by his parents, wife; Isabelle, 2 brothers; Lionel LeClair and Rayburn LeClair; 2 sisters; Judy Eagle and Irene LeClair.
