Maynard Hinman, longtime resident of Pawhuska, passed Thursday, September 29, 2011 in Fairfax, Oklahoma. He was 69 years of age.
Maynard was born February 10, 1942 in White Eagle, Oklahoma, the son of Roy Hinman and Evalina Barnaby Hinman. He has a Masters degree in Religion from Wesleys University in Batlesville, Oklahoma. Maynard travelled around the United States doing ministry within the Quaker church before he became ill.
He was married to Linda Mashunkashey Hinman on September 9, 1994 in Hominy, Oklahoma.
He is survived by his wife Linda, two stepchildren, Arthur Potts of Ponca City and Jon Hinman of Pawhuska. Four stepgrandchildren and one greatgrandchild and numerous extended family members. He was preceded in death by his parents, five brothers and two sisters
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Sunday, October 2, 2011 at White Eagle Cultural Cemetery with Rev. David Nagle presiding. Traditional dinner will begin at 11:30 a.m. Interment will follow in the Pawhuska City Cemetery. Casket bearers will be Roy Hinman, Jon Hinman, Bennetty Crazy Bear, Arthur Potts, Ricky Hinman, Ray Hinman. And Honorary Bearers will be Louis Headman, Ed Littlecook, Jr. Flores, Sherman Bold Warrior, Pete Poweska, Larry Pensick, Jr., Garland Pappan and Johnson Taylor, Jr.
