Maxwell Phillip Noear, resident of Kansas City, Missouri passed away on Thursday, January 15, 2009 at St. Lukes Plaza. He was 70. Maxwell was born the son of Jack Noear and Salina King Noear on October 26, 1938 in Pawnee, Oklahoma. He served in the United States Army and was proud of his Native American culture and community. He enjoyed passing the traditions on to his children and grandchildren. Max loved participating in Pow Wows, singing and dancing. He is survived by his wife of 24 years, Flo Homewytewa Noear; sons, Haygah Noear and Haynah Noear; grandchildren, Malachi, Stacie Ann, Gina Maria and a fourth to be born in April; many nieces and nephews, cousins and special friends. He is preceded in death by his parents; six brothers and two sisters. A traditional noon meal will be held at the Ponca Tribal Cultural Center on Sunday, January 18, 2009. The funeral service will follow at 2:00 p.m. with Oliver Littlecook officiating. Interment will be at the Ponca Tribal Cemetery under the direction of Grace Memorial Chapel. Memorial contributions can be made to the American Diabetes Association, 3000 United Founders Boulevard Suite 108, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma 73112.
