Mary Gehring

Mary Joe Jody Briggs Gehring, resident of Ponca City, passed away Wednesday, April 22, 2009 at her home. She was 52. Jody was born May 27, 1956 in Blackwell, Oklahoma, the daughter of Trulin Briggs and Mary Nuckolls Briggs. She was a 1975 graduate of Blackwell High School. Jody served in the Civil Service in the 1980s. She most recently had been employed with Conoco in the Customer Service Department. She had been a member of the Harmony Missionary Baptist Church. Her enjoyments were her family, especially her young grandson. She was also an avid OU fan and was known for her sense of humor. She is survived by her son, Dan Gehring and wife, Sarah, Whiteman AFB, Missouri; one grandson, Logan Gehring; two brothers, Don and John Briggs and one sister, Tracie Briggs, all of Blackwell. She was preceded in death by her parents. Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, April 27, 2009 at the Blackwell Cemetery under the direction of Grace Memorial Chapel.
