The precious life of our relative, Logan Henry LeRoy passed on to our Heavenly paradise on November 10, 2008 in Oklahoma City. He was 48. Logan was born March 25, 1960 in Pawnee, Oklahoma, the son of Henry Logan and Evelyn Snake LeRoy. Logan attended the McKinley Elementary School and East Jr. High School of Ponca City before attending the Chilocco Indian School. During his school years he loved to play football and baseball. He was a skilled cement finisher by trade. He lived his whole life in Ponca City and loved being outdoors. He loved to fish and hunt, sketch and draw and was an OU fan. But most important to him he loved spending time with his family. Logan was an enrolled member of the Omaha Nation but of Ponca descent. He is a descendent of Chief Big Snake and Chief Standing Bear of the Ponca Nation and very proud of his American Indian heritage. He was also a member of the Ponca Indian Baptist Church. He is survived by 5 brothers, Jarvis S. LeRoy and wife, Linda, of Pawnee, Oklahoma, Sam Anderson of Nebraska, Henry Anderson of Fairfax, Oklahoma, Dana LeRoy and wife, Debbie, Indianapolis, Indiana, Shannon LeRoy and wife, Tina, of Omaha, Nebraska; 2 sisters, Diana Haddock and husband, Francis, of Oaks, Oklahoma, and Claudina Snake Downing and husband, Tim, of Colcord, Oklahoma. Logan also loved to spend time with his nephews and nieces as they spent summer vacation with their grandparents, Henry and Evelyn LeRoy. He will be remembered as a fun and precious uncle to his nephews, Amon, Ricky, Kevin, Shane, Josh LeRoy, Kevin, Johnny and Thomas Pettit and Joseph Logan Downing and his nieces, Katherine Brady, Courtney Stumbling Bear, Kristie, Guyanna, Heather, Cori, Caitlin and Stormy LeRoy. He is also survived by many numerous other relatives. He was blessed with grandchildren as well, La Rena Cozad-Tawkoyty, Xander Brady, Xander Stumbling Bear, Kevin LeRoy Jr., George LeRoy, Jonny Pettit Jr., Ericka Brady, Addyson LeRoy, Diana LeRoy, Jarvis Snake Brady, Alicia Pettit, Autumn Pettit and LeeAnn Valerie. He was preceded in death by his parents, Henry and Evelyn Snake LeRoy; both sets of grandparents, Logan Henry and Susan McCauley LeRoy and Henry and Ida Wolf Snake; one brother, Wallace Anderson; one sister, Gladys Vallerie Snake Duvall; 2 uncles, Howard Snake and Thomas Joe Wamego; his aunts, Lucy Snake Cries for Ribs and Kathryn Snake Stevens. Wake services will be held Friday and Saturday evenings at 7 p.m. at the Ponca Indian Baptist Church. A traditional noon meal will be held on Sunday, November 16, 2008 at the Ponca Indian Baptist Church with the funeral service to follow at 2 p.m. with Rev. Warren Pratt Jr. officiating, assisted by Rev. Paul Graham. Interment will be in the Ponca Indian Tribal Cemetery under the direction of Grace Memorial Chapel. Casket bearers will be Amon LeRoy, Joseph Downing, Thomas Pettit, Thad Brady, Francis Stumbling Bear, Jeffrey Littlewalker, Shane LeRoy and Jesse LeClair Jr.
