Linda Marie Johnston, resident of Hemingford, Nebraska passed away on Monday, October 12, 2009. She was 58 years old. Linda was born the daughter of Mike J. Hall and Wanda Lou Bryant Hall Morgan in Bartlesville, Oklahoma on July 26, 1951. She grew up in Blackwell and attended Blackwell High School. She married James Holder in 1973 and later Married Anthony Johnston in 1984. Linda loved home decorating, crafts and thrift store shopping. She had the gift of turning junk into something beautiful. She loved making things for her grandchildren. When she wasnt thrift store shopping her favorite stores were Hobby Lobby and Hallmark. Linda liked to cook and she had a passion for food. She loved bananas, banana pudding, banana bread and banana ice cream. Her favorite place to eat was Taco Stop and The English Pub when it was here. She was an England fanatic and always wished she could travel to London. She liked watching Disney movies, comedies and CSI, but she would usually rather listen to the stereo than watch television. Linda enjoyed going for walks. Her favorite season was fall; she liked watching the leaves turn into their fiery reds, oranges and yellows. She loved hearing the Catholic Church bells and missed hearing them after moving to Nebraska. Linda loved animals, especially her dogs Tuffy and Abby; fancy rats, crumpet and Lyndon and her ferret, Mama G. She collected teddy bears and Paddington Bear was one of her favorites. Her favorite holiday was Valentines Day. Linda loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and she is going to be greatly missed. She is survived by her boyfriend, Ted Robb of Alliance, Nebraska; children, Mandy Burkett and husband, Michael, Leta Holder and Donald Blair, Devon Johnston, Megan Johnston and Eric Matthews and Trey Jacobs all of Ponca City, Oklahoma; grandchildren, Ashlyn Burkett, Andrew Adkins, Kristina Burkett, Khloe Marie Matthews, T.J. and Ariel Turner; stepfather, Danny Morgan of Ponca City; son-in-law, Billy Adkins; and close friend, Carol Dixie. She is preceded in death by her parents; one son, James Albert Holder; and one grandson, Heath Alexander Putman. The memorial service will be announced at a later time.
