Linda June Delaney, former resident of Ponca City, died Thursday morning, Sept. 25, 2008, in Birmingham, Ala. She was 61. Funeral will be 10 a.m. Tuesday at First Baptist Church. Burial will follow at IOOF Cemetery. Service will be officiated by David Frees of St. Luke's Nazarene Church. The family will hold a visitation at Grace Memorial Chapel Monday from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Linda June Delaney, was born to Aaron and Gladys Kirchner Delaney on June 29, 1947. She was the only daughter among five sons. She graduated from Ponca City High School in 1965 where she was in Glee Club. She married and lived in Bartlesville, Blackwell, and returned to Ponca City where she was the manager for the Braum's Ice Cream store on Highland for several years before being transferred to the Braum's store in Chickisha where she lived for many years before moving to Enterprise, Ala., to live with her son. She loved being around her extensive family and talking to them on the phone, no matter where she was living. She had a lively sense of humor and a compassionate nature. She enjoyed fishing and camping with her brothers and swimming with her grandsons. She believed that All you take out of this world is love. She is survived by her daughter, Becky Gauger of Ponca City; son, Richard King and wife Diana of Enterprise. Ala.; grandchildren, Cortnie, Richard and Bobby King; three brothers, Walter Delaney and wife Carolyn of Newkirk, Jack Delaney and wife Barbara, of Stillwater, Bud Delaney and wife Molley of Ponca City; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; two infant siblings; and brothers, James and Everett Delaney. Casket bearers will be Richard King, Walter Delaney, Jack Delaney, Chad Delaney, Mark Delaney and Johnny Davis.
