Leroy Rackley, 64 of Ponca City, Oklahoma passed away, of cancer, on Saturday, March 24th in Lolo, Montana, at the home of his daughter Tonya.
Leroy was born on May 9th, 1947, in Russellville, Arkansas to Alice PaulineBohannon and Rayburn Paul Rackley. He graduated from Guthrie High School in Guthrie, Oklahoma and attended Central State College in Edmond, Oklahoma. He also served 6 years with the Oklahoma National Guard.
Leroy was an owneroperator of The Coffee Break Restaurant in Ark City, Kansas for 35 years before retiring in September of 2011. His hobbies included flea markets and collecting coins, antique glass, and Santa Clauses.
He never focused on things beyond his control and could make everyone laugh even in hard times. Leroy was determined, easy going, kind, loving, giving and genuinely happy. He also loved birds, especially eagles, and spending time with family and friends.
Leroy was preceded in death by his father, Rayburn Paul Rackley and his brother, Ronald Paul Rackley. He is survived by Ed Jantz of the home in Ponca City 3 daughters Brenda Israel, Waynesville, NC, Tonya Robinson, Lolo, MT, Monica Walbruch, Washougal, WA. 11 grandchildren Chelsie, Haley, Rikki, Kristian, Emily, Sloan, Autumn, Ailey, Anna, Isaiah and Mari, 2 great grandchildren Carter and Kenley, his mother Alice Pauline Rackley, of Locust Grove, sisters Paulette Jackson and Sharon Leach, both of Locust Grove, Barbara Brooks of Guthrie, and brother Mark Rackley of Claremore, OK.
Services will be Saturday, March 31st, 2012, 11:00am, at the Grace Memorial Chapel
The family suggests memorials to Hospice of Missoula Montana, American Cancer Society and MakeAWish Foundation
