Leroy Marlow, passed away Thursday, April 9, 2015 at his home in Oklahoma City. He was 80 years old.
Leroy was born April 1, 1935 in Pawnee, Oklahoma, the son of Henry John Marlow and Stella Lucille Burgess Marlow Whitecloud.
He received his education in the Pawnee Indian School and was a member of the Otoe-Missouria Tribe and the First Indian Baptist Church. He was a beloved father, grandfather, uncle and brother to so many friends and family. Leroy was known for his generosity and kindness to others. He opened his doors and his heart to anyone in need.
Leroy is survived by his son, Brian Keith Marlow, of Apopka Florida; two sisters, Alma Warrior and Mary Louise Whitecloud, both of Red Rock; one brother, Freeman Dean Marlow, of Oklahoma City; three grandchildren, Tanner Marlow, of Oklahoma City, Toni Marlow Mutteloke, her husband Dustin Mutteloke, and his step-grandson Roy Williams of Tuttle, his wife Mindy, three great-grandchildren, Tyler, Brody and Tinley, and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one son, Roy Lee Marlow. on December 16, 1988; three brothers, Lelus Anthony Plumley, Henry William Marlow and Aldon Lee Marlow; two infant brothers, Delray Marlow and Dennis Whitecloud, one sister, Annabelle Marlow Pratt, and one great-grandson, Tanner Marlow Jr.
Prayer services will be held each evening at 7 p.m. at the Otoe Baptist Church in Red Rock Oklahoma. A noon meal will be served on Sunday, April 12 at the Otoe Baptist Church with the funeral service to follow at 2 p.m. The Pastor of the First Indian Baptist Church will preside over the service. Burial will follow in the Otoe-Missouria Cemetery under the direction of Grace Memorial Chapel.
Despite Leroy Marlow's wishes to be buried face-down, so everyone could kiss his behind goodbye, the family has decided to bury him face up towards the heavens, his eternal home.
Casket bearers will be Donovan Harragarra, Dennis Jackson, Mark Pratt, John Pratt, Aldon Marlow Jr. and Roy Williams.
