Lea Jeanine Behar, 77, of Ponca City, passed away on Sunday, September 22, 2013 at her home surrounded by her family.
She was born on June 17, 1936 in Kiowa, KS to Joseph and Edith Showalter Schnitzer.
She was a homemaker and family accountant, member of Philadelphia Church of God where she was active in many church functions. Jeanine was married to Richard Behar on April 22, 1955 at the First Christian Church of Newkirk, OK. Jeanine loved to paint landscapes and write poetry. Music was one of her favorite pastimes, whether it was listening to, writing songs and playing several instruments by ear. She enjoyed playing Parcheesi and canasta for hours with family. She was preceded in death by her parents and sisterAnita Betty Artman.
Jeanine is survived by her husband of over 58 years, Sons Kevin Behar of Branford, CT and Joseph Behar of Rowlett, TX. BrotherFloyd C. Schnitzer, 1 grandchild and 3 nieces.
Graveside services will be 2:00 p.m., Friday, September 27, 2013 at Sunset Memorial Park Cemetery with Minister Mark Nash Officiating.
