Kevin David Downs, of Ponca City passed away on Tuesday, January 25th at his home.
Kevin was born in Ft. Walton Beach, Florida on March 7, 1966, to Howard E. and Charlotte (Cramer) Downs. He moved to Ponca City when he was three years old and graduated from PO HI in 1984. Kevin served in the United States Navy from 1984 to 1988 as an E5 Instrument man in Italy and Spain. He also was employed in various roles by Conoco, Jupiter Sulphur LLC, Williams Gas Pipeline Central, and Phillips 66. Kevin married his best friend Leisa Barnard on Valentine’s Day in 2003. He had many talents including riding a unicycle, competitive roller skating, he also juggled and entertained his family. Kevin was an avid gym rat, enjoyed working in the yard, 4-wheeling, riding his Harley Davidson, and spending time with his family and friends.
Kevin was a volunteer at Veterans Landing where his wife is a Board member. The Landing assists Veterans with PTSD issues and those traumatic events that happened during their service in the military
Kevin is survived by his mother, Charlotte Carlson of Wichita, Kansas, his wife Leisa of the home and his children. Garrett Downs of the home; Morgan Titus of Phoenix, Arizona; Justin Armstrong of Shawnee, Oklahoma; Kyle Armstrong and wife Cassidy of Guthrie, Oklahoma; and his various grand pups. He is further survived by his loyal Goldendoodle Ryker. He was preceded in death by Father Howard E. Downs and his stepfather Richard Carlson.
Visitation will be held Thursday, February 3, 2022, from 1 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Grace Memorial Chapel, Ponca City, Oklahoma. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 am on Friday, February 4th at Connect Church with family friend Pastor Mark Busch officiating. Burial will be held 2:00 p.m. Friday, February 4, 2021, in the Winfield Veterans Cemetery in Winfield, Kansas. Arrangements are in care of Grace Memorial Chapel of Ponca City.
