Joyce Mae Tautfest, longtime resident of the Red Rock community, passed Saturday, October 3, 2015 at her home. She was 62 years of age.
Joyce was born March 15, 1953 in Ponca City, the daughter of Edward Leroy Bennett and Thelma Mae (Robbins) Bennett. She was a 1971 graduate of Marland High School. She was married to Richard Lee "Rick" Tautfest on April 16, 1977 in Marland.
Joyce started employment with Sears in 1976 where she worked for five years before joining Conoco-Phillips in 1981. She retired from Conoco-Phillips in 2014 after 33 years of employment. She was an Accounting Systems Tester at the time of her retirement.
Her enjoyments were working on the farm beside her husband Rick, bowling, hunting for arrowheads, yardwork, tending her rose bushes, watching birds and rabbits, taking pictures of old barns and shooting her gun.
She is survived by her four siblings, Butch Bennett and wife Cheryl, of Ponca City, Sarah Sober and husband David, of Ponca City, Roy Bennett and wife Kandi, of Ponca City and Tony Bennett and wife Ruby, of Marland; her special aunt and caregiver, Judy Cooper and husband Phil of Arkansas City, Kansas; sister-in-law Barb Chermack of Red Rock; several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Rick; two nieces, Janiece Labon and Elizabeth Sober Goodno.
Graveside services will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, October 8, 2015 at the Ceres Cemetery with Hospice Chaplain Mike Sweetman presiding. Arrangements are under the direction of Grace Memorial Chapel.
Casket bearers are Jered Bennett, Michael Bennett, Josh Williams, Travis Potter, Philip Cooper and Greg Chermack.
