Jose Negrete

Jose Rodriguez Negrete, resident of Ponca City, passed Friday, January 18, 2013 at his home. He was 53 years of age.

Jose was born July 1, 1959 in Plainview, Texas, the son of Francisco Romo Negrete and Andrea Rodriguez Negrete. He attended grade school in Lazbuddie, Texas and senior high school in Dinuba, California where he obtained the nickname Professor because of his high intellect. He was married to Lavonda Kempenich on May 8, 1981 in Levelland, Texas.

Jose was a plumber and welder, working with new construction. His enjoyments were fishing, hunting, reading, traveling and spending time with family.

He is survived by his wife, Lavonda, of the home twin sons, Joseph Frank Negrete and Joseph Edward Negrete one grandson, Isaiah Argonne two brothers, Modesto R. Negrete and Jesse R. Negrete four sisters, Oralia Rodriguez, Virginia R. Negrete, Gloria R Negrete Lopez and Teresa Negrete Ruiz numerous nieces, nephews, other extended family and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and one son, Michael Ray Negrete.

A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, January 23, 2013 at the First Christian Church in Kaw City. Arrangements were under the direction of Grace Memorial Chapel.
