Johnny Whitehorn, Tulsa resident, passed away on Thursday, December 23, 2010. He was 62.
Johnny was born July 25, 1948 in Stillwater, Oklahoma to Mark Whitehorn and Elsie Elvina Springer Whitehorn. He attended Enid Public Schools and graduated from Enid High School in 1966. He served in the United States Army from 1967 to 1970. Johnny later attended the Haskell Institute in Lawrence, Kansas and Bacone College in Muskogee, Oklahoma. He was a member of the Pentecostal Church and the Otoe First Born Native Church. He was also a member of the Eagle Clan. Johnny had a sense of humor that attracted people. He loved laughing and spending time with people. He also enjoyed beadwork.
He is survived by his children, Anna Ramsey and husband, Joe, Raylene Berryhill and husband, Jim and Toni Whitehorn grandchildren, Colby Whitehorn, Aleah Sam, Abel Whitehorn, Bobby Sam, Brinae Bearbow, Bretten Bearbow and Angel Whitehorn great grandchildren, Alexis Whitehorn and Kaden Whitehorn brothers, Randy Whitehorn and Mark Whitehorn several nieces, nephews and other distant relatives as well as many friends.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Mark and Elsie and one brother, Ronald Whitehorn.
The funeral service will be 2:00 p.m., Sunday, December 26, 2010 at the OtoeMissouria Cultural Center with Ted Black presiding. Burial will follow at the OtoeMissouria Tribal Cemetery under the direction of Grace Memorial Chapel.
