John Norman Sebor, lifelong resident of the Ponca City area, passed away Friday afternoon, November 19, 2010 at the Ponca City Medical Center. He was 71 years of age.
John was born August 17, 1939 in Ponca City, the son of Arnold John Sebor and Lillie Frances Malone Sebor. He attended the Kildare elementary school and was a 1957 graduate of Ponca City High School. He was married to Gloria Greer on August 27, 1960 in Ponca City and to this union was born two sons, Greg and Don. John later married Frances Kay Robison on December 15, 1998 in Las Vegas, Nevada.
John was engaged in farming for many of his earlier years, later working for Pikes Construction in Arkansas City. He also was a ranch hand for Charlie and Sonny Cannon and was employed with Evans Associates. He was currently employed as a yard supervisor at the Ponca City Lowes store. His enjoyments were his three grandchildren who were his pride and joy, farming, gardening, attending antique tractor shows, being with friends, especially around a cup of McDonalds coffee. John also enjoyed his times playing Santa for grandchildren, great nieces, nephews and friends. John was also the owner of several classic cars and tractors.
He is survived by his wife, Frances, of the home two sons, Greg Sebor and wife, Gaytha, and Don Sebor and wife, Cindy, all of Ponca City one stepson, Robbie Lee Robison, also of Ponca City two sisters, Anna Stuever and husband, George and twin sister, Joan Williams and husband, Jake, all of Ponca City three grandchildren, Calie Jo Sebor, Jay Sebor and Colby Sebor his best friends, Ronnie Stockton and Frank Rorie He also leaves behind his Schnauzer dog Mattie who will miss him dearly other extended family and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents one brother, Ernest Sebor and an infant sister Clestina.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, November 23, 2010 at Grace Memorial Chapel with Prairie Chapel Church Pastor Wanda Littrell presiding. Interment will follow in the Resthaven Memorial Park Cemetery.
Casket bearers will be Scott Hunsaker, Gerald Jenkins, Hank Hainziner, J. Paul Williams, Keven Frazier, Bill Stuever. Honorary casket bearers will be Criss Janda, Ronnie Stockton, Frank Rorie and Bill Giebel.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the memorial fund of choice.
