John Psikal

John Edgar Psikal, resident of Kildare, passed Sunday morning, June 12, 2011 at his home. He was 65 years of age.

John was born May 22, 1946 in Ponca City, the son of Elmer John Psikal Jr. and Wanda Lee Randol Psikal. He was a 1965 graduate of Ponca City High School. He served his country in the Oklahoma National Guard from 1965 to 1971. He was assigned to Company C of the 179th Infantry Thunderbird Division. He was employed as a production worker with Air Sytem Components ASC of Ponca City.

He was a member of the St. Francis Catholic Church of Newkirk where he was baptized in April of 1952. He also was a member of the American Legion, the American Legion Riders and local Sheet Metal Union 464. His enjoyments were his family, his motorcycle, motorcycle riding, the outdoors, music, playing the drums and fishing.

He is survived by his mother, Wanda Lee Psikal four children, Jeff Psikal and wife, Reda, Deena Barclay, Susan Sawyer and husband, Jim, and Melissa Perez one sister, Lawanda Psikal and one brother, Terry Psikal and wife, Esther 9 grandchildren and one great granddaughter, McKenzie, who is due to be born in August. He was preceded in death by his father.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, June 15, 2011 at Grace Memorial Chapel with Father Kevin Ratterman of St. Marys Catholic Church presiding. Interment will follow in Resthaven Memorial Park Cemetery.

Casket bearers will be Steve Horinek, Clifford Gildhouse, Vern Randol, Skip Russell, Tracy Parker and Rusty Randol. Honorary casket bearers will be Curt Johnston and Elmer Moore.
