Jesse Lee Vaden Jr., longtime resident of Shidler, passed away Friday, December 16, 2011 as a result of an automobile accident. He was 80 years of age.
Jesse was born August 3, 1931 in Slick, Oklahoma, the son of Jesse Lee Vaden Sr. and Lola Viola Weaver Vaden. He attended Webb City Elementary School and Shidler High School. He served his country in the United States Army. He was married to N. Mae Chouteau on December 7, 1954 in Shidler. Jesse was employed 50 plus years as an oilfield rig operator and had just retired in January of this year.
He was a member of the V.F.W. and National Rifle Association. His enjoyments were spending time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren, reading western novels, hunting, fishing and working.
Jesse is survived by one daughter, Teresa Ray and husband, Bobby one son, Joe Dean Vaden two sisters, Sally Johnson and Dolly Parks three grandchildren, Aaron Ray and wife, Christi, Shannon Ray Collyar and Travis Ray six great grandchildren, Jesse Lee Ray, Junior Lee Ray, Brittnee Stierwalt, Cidney Collyar, Kiley Collyar and Wrangler Collyar several other extended family members and friends. He was preceded in death by his wife, Mae three brothers, Jackie, Neal and Jerry Vaden.
A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, December 21, 2011 at Grandview Cemetery in Kaw City. Arrangements are under the direction of Grace Memorial Chapel.
The family will be at the home at 600 North Gypsy in Shidler.
