Jean Louise Fulsom, 92 yrs, beloved wife, mother, grandmother and sister, entered her eternal resting place on March 19, 2025.
Jean was born on January 20, 1933, in Kansas City, KS to Luther and Blanch Griffin. She shares this birthday with her identical twin sister, Jackie Marie Matthiesen. Their father, “Papa Luke” was a Southern Baptist minister, and the family time was spent in the churches that he pastored. In high school, Jean and her twin sister, Jackie, were both twirlers in the school marching band and they both played basketball. Jean worked at Southwestern Bell Telephone Company after graduation and soon after met her husband, Joe Fulsom.
Jean and Joe married on February 27, 1954, and made their home in Grainola, Oklahoma. They started a cattle ranch which they grew over all their married life into a successful family business that spanned from Oklahoma into Kansas. Together they adopted and raised five children, Ronnie, Bo, Vearl, Allison and Mark. Jean and Joe also started a construction company, Fulsom Construction, which they owned and operated for over 50 years.
Throughout her life, Jean enjoyed caring for the home, cooking, and traveling with Joe when she could. Jean took a special interest in her grandchildren and great grandchildren and attended many of their school activities and events throughout the years. She was an active member of the Dexter community. Her pride and joy were her cats and two dogs, Charlie and Alex.
Jean is survived by her son Ronnie, daughter Allison, son Bo, twin sister Jackie, daughter in laws Jamie, Velva, and Karen along with numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Joe, her sons, Mark and Vearl, her brother-in-law Paul and sister-in-law Frankie Fulsom.
