Janice Tabor-Hinman

Janice Kay TaborHinman, resident of Ponca City, Oklahoma, passed away Monday, October 29, 2012, at Via Christi St Francis Hospital in Wichita, Kansas, she was 55 years of age.

Janice was born on March 18, 1957 in Lebanon, Missouri, the daughter of Edwin Hinman and Juanita Collier Hinman. She attended high school in Denver, Colorado and continued her education at Mather Air Force Base and in Frankfurt Germany. Her completed coursework was in police corrections and many other criminal justice curriculums.

She was employed as the Tonkawa City Court Clerk and Dispatch Supervisor. She was a member of the Ponca Indian Methodist Church. Janice loved the Ponca Culture, especially the music and traditional pow wows. She was always willing to lend a helping hand to anyone in need. Nothing brought her greater joy then the time she spent with her family and friends. Janice was an avid reader of Stephan King novels and enjoyed watching forensic and investigative television and paranormal shows. She enjoyed traveling and looked forward to the many places that she would like to visit.

Janice is survived by her mother Juanita Hinman of Ponca City, her four children, sonJimmy Pitchford and his wife Kimberley, daughterJulie Carlton and her husband Jason, sonJerry Pitchford and sonRichard Hinman three sisters. Diana Tabor, Shirley Moore and Rebecca Watts two brothers, Floyd Tabor and Phillip Tabor. Janice had six grandchildren 1 greatgrandchild and one on the way numerous nieces and nephews her longtime companion Roy Hinman and many other extended family and friends.

A memorial service will be held at 10am on Saturday, November 3, 2012 at the Ponca Indian Methodist Church. Brother Jimmy White will preside. Arrangements are under the direction of Grace Memorial Chapel.
