Harold Kihega

Harold Kihega, Sr. age 84 beloved husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather was called home to heaven on October 26, 2022.  He was known by his friends and family as Red. He was born on May 31, 1938, in Ponca City, OK.  He was born to Richard and Bernice (Saunders) Kihega. He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Elaine Kihega.  Also, his children, Harold, Jr. and wife Shannon, Jackie Wahnee & Husband Wayland Wahnee, and Billie Kihega & Husband Jimmy Higgins.  Grandchildren: Jackson and Taylor, Carley Kihega, Joshua Woods, Jennifer Bordeaux, Michael Bordeaux, and Rebecca Bordeaux.  Great-grandchildren: Jonah Wahnee, Marshall Woods, Kobe Bordeaux, Nicholas Bordeaux, Hayden Knight, Justin Schroeder, Tuff Schroeder, and Ben Schroeder Jr.  He is also survived by his adopted Otoe sister, Joann Compton Aitson. He is proceeded in death by  his daughter Joann, brothers – Roger, Carroll, Charles, and Richard, Jr. Parents Richard and Bernice, and Grandparents George and Sarah Grace (Hudson).  He lived a blessed life, in high school he played basketball for Red Rock, later his hobbies and ventures included, tournament golf and pool, training racehorses that competed in Oklahoma, Texas, New Mexico and Kansas, his business entrepreneurships included opening two convenience stores and auto dealerships in Elgin and Lawton OK. His professional career included teaching and coaching at Ft. Sill Indian School in Lawton, OK. He also taught school in Brigham City Utah, where Jackie and Joann were born. He was a great friend to many; in the earlier years he could be found helping friends during wheat harvest or rounding up cattle. In his later years he enjoyed attending sporting events and visiting his grandchildren and greatgrandchildren.
