Grace Agnes Wilson passed from this world on July 20, 2020 at the age of 64 surrounded by her loving family. She came into this world on Wednesday, December 28, 1955 in Gold Beach, Oregon. She was one of three daughters to John Rex and Delorys Mae (Ulrich) Sharp.
Grace grew up in the Gold Beach area graduating from the local public schools. She went on to obtain her associate degree in Price, Utah followed by her bachelor’s degree from Southern Nazarene University in Bethany, Oklahoma. Grace was proud to be a soldier with the US Army, serving her country for over 7 years.
On November 9, 1974 she married the love of her life, William Cecil Wilson, Sr in Gold Beach, Oregon. Together they raised their family of three children; Laura, Donna and Cecil. Bill and Grace made many wonderful memories during their 45 years of matrimony.
Grace was never one to sit idle, she always kept herself busy. She enjoyed lots of crafts, from painting, knitting and beadwork. However, fishing was one of her first loves. Grace loved spending time at the beach and the ocean. She was very knowledgeable regarding canines. She knew all dog breeds and how much they should weigh, how to train them and lavished them with her love and care.
All these things brought Grace joy, but nothing could compare to her love and care for her family. She was known to never let anyone go hungry, taking pride in cooking for everyone. Specially at Christmas time when she would make all her candies from favorite family recipes. She was affectionally known to her family as “Granis”. She received this name from her oldest grandson Kade. When he was just a young tyke, he combined grandma with Grace and created Granis for her.
She will forever be remembered for her generous, caring, passionate and dedicated nature. Everyone was welcomed into her home and she would do or provide anything she could to help anyone that was in need.
Left to mourn Grace’s passing are her husband, Bill Wilson, children, Laura, Donna and Cecil, thirteen grandchildren, five great grandchildren, mother, Delorys Sharp, sisters, Rosie, Sandy and Bev as well as a host of family of friends.
She is preceded in death by her father, John Sharp, granddaughter, Nicole, stepson, John and nephew, Willie.
A Funeral Service will be held in Grace’s honor at 2pm on Friday, July 24, 2020 at Grace Memorial Chapel with Caleb Ward presiding.
