Gladys Jane Oliver, 92, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and friend, passed away on March 10, 2024, in Ponca City, Oklahoma. She was born on April 7, 1931, in Enid, Oklahoma to Faye and Mary (Smith) McKinney and grew up in Ames, Oklahoma.
Gladys was known for her love of collecting antiques and gardening. Her family cherished her deeply for the joy and care she brought into their lives. She had a passion for shopping for antiques and tending to her beautiful garden filled with blooming flowers.
One of Gladys's proudest accomplishments was her enduring marriage to Les for 64 wonderful years. Their love story was a testament to commitment and devotion.
She will be dearly missed by her surviving family including daughters Cheryl Rolin, Carol & husband Vic Purdy; son Brad & wife Barbara Oliver; grandchildren Sarah & husband Kenny, Lacie, Derek & wife Amanda, Tracy & husband Justin, Allen & wife Jenny as well as bonus grandchildren Porsha and Lincoln; great-grandchildren Shelbie & husband Koby, Abbie, Mathew, Aubrey, Brooke, Bailey, Sydnie, Lauren, Levi, Kacy & husband Brandon; great-great-grandchildren Harrison and Violet; her nephews Duane, Dave, and Doug McKinney. And her special friend, Charlotte Montcastle. She leaves behind a legacy of love and kindness with the many other friends and family who will miss her dearly.
Gladys is reunited in peace with her parents Faye and Mary, husband Les, infant daughter LaWanna Beth, granddaughter Ashlie Rolin, brother Earl McKinney, and sister Edna Schoonover.
A graveside service to honor and remember Gladys will be held at Ames Cemetery in Ames, Oklahoma on Thursday, March 14th, 2:00 PM. The service will be a reflection of the love and light she brought into the world throughout her life.
