George Jack Fancher Jr. was born Jan10, 1945 at Ponca City Hospital to George ”Jack” and Edythe Fox Fancher. He Attended Ponca City Schools, Graduating in 1963. He Attended Oklahoma State University, pledging Lambda Chi Alpha Fraternity #811. George loved to fish, watch college wrestling and football. He loved to cook for his friends and family. He also played numerous musical instruments and loved Jazz and Rock & Roll. Coached by George Harman for Ponca City High School/Conoco Aquatic’s he swam the relay, butterfly, backstroke and breast stroke, and competed in the State AAU Junior Olympics 400 Freestyle, in 1961 beat the state record 400 Freestyle and in 1962 won State championship in 400 freestyle.
In 1972 George wed Vickie Hunter in Denver, Colorado. They returned to Ponca City where he worked for Modern Supply Company, Ponca Fabricators, and retired with Quarter Turn Resources in 2017 as Production Manager. He and Vickie had many dogs and cats over the years which brought them great joy. George especially loved his niece Brandi and nephews Damon, Scott and Brian, and his great nieces and nephews.
He was proceeded in death by his parents, his sister Sandra, one brother-in-law Don, and nephew Brad Hunter.
He is survived by his wife Vickie of 48 years, his niece and nephews, brothers-in-law Keith, Phillip Bill, and Dennis Hunter
