Francis Frank King, Sr., resident of Oklahoma City, passed away on Wednesday, August 6, 2008 at his home. He was 59. Francis was born the son of Funston Browning King and Jennie Belvin Kemble King on May 7, 1949 in Ponca City, Oklahoma. He grew up in Marland, Oklahoma and attended Marland Public Schools. He moved to Oklahoma City in 1971 and enlisted in the United States Navy. Francis devoted four years to serving his country until his honorable discharge in 1973. He married Julia Carpitcher on October 31, 1977 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. He attended the First Indian Nazarene Church. Francis enjoyed taking road trips and traveling. He also liked playing bingo and going to the casino. Francis loved family outings and spending time with his grandchildren. He was employed with the City of Oklahoma City for eight years and he retired in January from a 32 year post office career in Oklahoma City. He is survived by his loving wife, Julia of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; children, Cheryl Alexander, Kara King, Frank King Jr., Gerald King and Daryl King; brothers, John King of Irving Texas, Philmore King of Anaheim, California, Robert King of Ponca City, Chester Haynes of Oklahoma City, Elizabeth Loera of Ponca City, Nellie King of Ponca City, Cora Mitchell of Ponca City and Laura Colbert of Ponca City; grandchildren, Nahka King, Erica Factor, Mary King, Athena King, Kimberly King, Kathrine Pewo, Samuel King, Kandice Alexander, Darwin King, Aaviela King, Olivia King, Daryl King and Brooke Pewo; aunt, Florence Cole, great great aunt, Velma Jones; numerous nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Woodrow King, Levi King, Douglas King and Frederick King; and one sister, Pauline Ward Warrior. Casket bearers for the service will be Edward Vazquez, Junior Page, Mauricio Garcia, Michael Page, George King and Rodney Yahola. Honorary bearers are Frank King Jr., Gerald King, Daryl King, Joe Pewo, Marvin Alexander Sr., Robert King and Chester Haynes.
