Faye was born January 24, 1923 on a farm near Peckham, Oklahoma, the daughter of Raymond Rancie Hasselbring and Cynthia Ella Trenary Hasselbring. She was baptized at an early age at the Tonkawa Christian Church and was a member of the Braman Christian Church. Her family moved to the Three Sands, Oklahoma community in 1934 where she attended school. During those years she played the saxophone and was on the basketball team. She graduated from the Three Sands Central High School in the early 1940s. After moving to Ponca City the couple spent 712 years building the home in which she still owned and visited frequently with her family. During the last three years she was lovingly cared for at The Renaissance by a fantastic staff. Faye and Leland were charter members of Woodlands Christian Church where they were very active with Faye working with the womens group and giving loving care to the babies and toddlers. One of Fayes great gifts was her open arms of acceptance of anyone needing a home, a meal or just a listening ear.
