Edward Lawrence Selvey Sr.
Edward Lawrence Selvey Sr., longtime resident of Ponca City, passed away Monday, June 27, 2011 at the Ponca City Medical Center. He was 74 years of age.
Edward was born July 14, 1936 in Ponca City, the son of Paul Brizie Selvey and Esther Carlean Hall Selvey. He attended Jefferson Elementary and Ponca City High School. He was married to Bernice Louise Keeler on October 31, 1955 in Guthrie, Oklahoma. Ed had worked for Serbons T.V., Ponca Floral for 13 years as a commercial flower deliver, for the Huffy bicycle plant and then was employed 16 years as a welder and press operator at Air System Components, where he retired in 2000. Eds enjoyments were his pet cat, Sally, working in the yard, playing bingo and in earlier years fishing.
He is survived by his four children, Edward L. Selvey Jr. and wife, Linda, of Colorado Springs, Colorado, Creig Selvey of Blackwell, Oklahoma, Cindy Headrick and husband, Lee, of Ponca City, and Brad Selvey and wife, Angie, also of Ponca City 6 grandchildren, Jeremy Johnson, Luke Garrison, Trina Selvey, Gabby Hellman, Kyle Selvey and Sydney Selvey and 4 great grandchildren, Nicholas Johnson, Jesilyn Johnson, Jaedyn Johnson and Gabriel Johnson. He was preceded in death by his parents his wife, Bernice, on July 8, 2008 two brothers, Beauford Selvey and Marvin Selvey.
A memorial service will be held 10 a.m. Wednesday, July 6, 2011 at Sunset Baptist Church with Pastor Matt Brown presiding.
