Edward Corky Gammon, 77, of Ponca City, passed away Wednesday, Nov. 7, 2012 in the Fairfax Nursing Home.
Corky was born on Dec. 7, 1934 in Ponca City to Ray Albert and Madgie Lucille Graham Gammon. A lifelong area resident, Corky graduated from Marland High School. He was very active in basketball. He married his high school sweetheart, Patricia Ann Kelly on June 26, 1958 in Marland.
Corky had worked for the City of Ponca City starting in July 1955, retiring after 44 years in Dec. of 1999. This included working at the Marland Mansion. He also worked for Burnett Security, mowed lawns for many years and also enjoyed working the Octoberfest for many years. Corky was also in the Ponca City Police Reserves.
Corky was preceded in death by his parents, one brother Kenneth Boog Gammon and one daughter Kimberly Ann Howard.
Corky is survived by his wifePatricia Ann, 2 daughters Kelly Diemart and Krista Robertson and husband Jimmy all of Ponca City. Brother Clay and wife Phyllis of Norman.
6 Grandkids Ashley Jason Rector, Dustin Jones, Ashlie and Nathan Maldonado, Angela Robertson, James Robertson and Joseph Howard. 8 great grandkids Heaven, Graciee, Whytt, Kylynn, Bradford, Bradon, Noah and Mercedes.
Funeral Services will be 2:00 p.m., Monday, November 12, 2012 at Grace Memorial Chapel with Pastor David Buntt, officiating. Casket Bearers will be Jimmy Robertson, James Robertson, Dustin Jones, Jason Rector, Nathan Moldonado and Chris Wehr.
Burial will follow at I.O.O.F. Cemetery.
