Edna Nelson

Edna Imogene McCune Nelson, 85, of Ponca City, OK, passed away Saturday, October 8, 2011 at Shawn Manor Nursing Home.
Jean was born on October 31, 1925 in Ponca City, OK to George and Ethel Wright McCune. Edna grew up in and around the Ponca City area.
In 1947, she married Elmer Ray Nelson and to this union, seven children were born. Elmer passed away on September 10, 2003. Jean was a homemaker and loved her children and family dearly.
Jean was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, 2 brothers Loyd McCune and J.C. McCune and Grandson Kelly Ray Nelson, who passed away in 2011.
Jean is survived by her seven children and their spouses Terry Ray and Linda Nelson of Bartlesville, Betty Jean and Sam Bagg of Newkirk, Ronnie Leon and Peggy Nelson of Ponca City, Barbara Ann and Johnny Stevens of Kaw City, Nancy Lee and Bruce McMahan of Ponca City, Diana Lynn and Bruce Johnson of Ponca City and Sandra Kay Nelson. 11 grandchildren and 21 great grandchildren.
Funeral Services will be 10:00 a.m., Thursday, October 13, 2011 at Grace Memorial Chapel with Rev. Jack Shamburger, officiating. Burial will follow in Resthaven Memorial Park Cemetery of Ponca City.
Casket Bearers will be Mike Bagg, Chad McMahan, Cory Johnson, Cody Wingo, Erik Edgar and John Mowdy. Honorary Casket Bearers will be Tammy Wingo, Tonya Mowdy and Larry Nelson.
