Douglas R.H. Dewitz, resident of Ponca City, passed away Wednesday, August 11, 2010. He was 34.
Douglas was born December 31, 1975 in Annapolis, Maryland, the son of Douglas Royal Dewitz and Kathi Reinking Dewitz. His early education was in Colorado and Ponca City. He then attended the Missouri Welding Institute where he earned all his welding certificates.
He is survived by his parents Douglas and Kathi Reinking Dewitz of Ponca City one daughter, Annabella Dewitz two sisters, Kristi Diehl and husband, Sean, and Kandi Haney, all of Colorado his maternal grandmother, Peggy Reinking. He was preceded in death by his parental grandparents, Royal and Ethel Dewitz and his maternal grandfather, Harold Reinking.
Doug was known for his unique sense of humor and one means of showing that sense of humor was his impressions of various actors and the reciting of various movie lines.
He loved his motorcycle, music, watching movies, animals, especially dogs, the Chicago Cubs baseball team and the Nebraska Cornhuskers. He enjoyed the time spent with family and friends and will always be remembered as a good person.
Memorial services were held on Friday, August 13, 2010 at Grace Memorial Chapel with the Rev. Bob Weaver presiding.
