Dorothy Romine

Dorothy L. Romine, longtime resident of Ponca City, passed away Saturday, July 3, 2010 at the Ponca City Medical Center. She was 86.

Dorothy was born March 4, 1924 in Cherokee, Oklahoma, the daughter of Hugh Tyrrell and Amelia Waldrich Tyrrell. She received her early education in the CarmenAline schools. She was married to Kenneth Romine on December 16, 1944 in Alva, Oklahoma.
Dorothy spent most of her life as a homemaker and her greatest enjoyment was her family.

She is survived by her four children, all of Ponca City, Donnie Romine and wife, Joyce, Lynn Romine and wife, Judy, Linda Russell and husband, Danny, and Keith Romine and wife, Aleene one sister, Doris Romine, and husband, Lawrence, of Mooreland, Oklahoma and one brother, J.D. Tyrrell, and wife Evelyn, of Carmen, Oklahoma 12 grandchildren 22 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents husband two brothers, Leonard Tyrrell and Robert Tyrrell one sister, Lucille James, and a great granddaughter, Lindsi.

A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, July7, 2010 at Resthaven Memorial Park Cemetery with Rev. Larry Harris, pastor of the Pioneer Bible Church presiding. Arrangements are under the direction of Grace Memorial Chapel. Honorary casket bearers will be Dorothys grandchildren.
