Dominick Nick Warrior, longtime Ponca City resident, passed from this life on Friday, August 6, 2010, with his wife of 32 years at his side. He was 54 years old.

Nick was born in Pawnee, Oklahoma, on September 7, 1955, the eldest son of the late Anthony Warrior, Sr., and Katherine Primeaux Warrior. He had 3 siblings.
He graduated from the U.S. Bureau of Indian Affairs, Indian Policy Academy, Class No. 44, Salt Lake City, UT, on June 10, 1983. He was employed with the Tonkawa Tribal Police Department. His career as an Indian Police Officer spanned 27 years also working for the White Eagle Police and OtoeMissouria Police Departments.

Nick, along with his wife, enjoyed playing softball, basketball, and volleyball in younger days and travelled on many local native teams for tournaments throughout the state. He participated in the annual Ponca Indian shinny games every spring, where he will be missed. Nick was an avid collector of music, mostly rhythm and blues, and enjoyed watching various sporting events with family and friends year round. He had an active part in raising his grandchildren and they will dearly miss their Pa Pa. Nick was very proud of his Ponca heritage.

Nick is survived by the love of his life, Alexis, of the home five daughters, Lyndsey Lyne Warrior, Domico Rose Warrior, Yvonne Britt WarriorSmith and soninlaw, Michael Smith, and Dominique Warrior, his baby, all of Ponca City, and McKenzie Biggoose, of Weatherford, Oklahoma three sisters and a brother, Valerie Lydia Red Owl, of Minneapolis, Minnesota, Venetia Lila Hess of Ponca City, Judith Lewis of Zuni, New Mexico, and Anthony Warrior, Jr. of Ponca City eight grandchildren, Azariyah Patience Warrior, Kaden Marques Warrior, Solomon Horsechief Warrior, Mihonga Joy Roughface, Jeriah Jay Buffalohead, Mikah Teresa Kamille Buffalohead, and Vinola Leona Hernandez, all of Ponca City, and David Ray Kirby, of Tulsa. He also leaves a host of dearly loved extended family and friends.

Nick is preceded in death by his parents both maternal and paternal grandparents and other family.

Wake services will be held both Monday and Tuesday evening at the Ponca Tribal Cultural Center in White Eagle, with Mr. Leroy Enloe presiding. A traditional feast will be officiated by Alfred JrO Arkeketa at noon on Wednesday, August 11th followed by the funeral service at 2 p.m. Burial will be in the Ponca Tribal Cemetery under the direction of Grace Memorial Chapel.

Casket bearers will be James LeClair, Francis LeClair, Wesley Bear, Mike Page, Wayne Cries For Ribs, and Melvin Phillip Collins. Honorary casket bearers are Alfred JrO Arkeketa, Ivan Cries For Ribs, Roy Childs, Jeff Lieb, Jimmy Roughface, Brenton Carney and Freeman Arkeketa.
