David Kelly Clark, resident of Ponca City passed away on Thursday, February 5, 2009 at his home. He was 65. David was born to Margaret Clark Yoder on December 11, 1943 in Pawnee, Oklahoma. He lived in Seminole, Oklahoma, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma and during the last 10 years he resided in Ponca City. David served in the United States Navy for 12 years. While in the service, he traveled to many places and even played a role on the U.S.S. Kearsarge. The U.S.S. Kearsarge had the role of recovery ship in the Project Mercury Orbital Space Flight by retrieving the space capsule after splashdown. David had many enjoyments which included going to the casino but he especially loved just about any sport and was an avid OU fan. He comes from the Giveswaters Family of Bodock and is survived by his brothers and sisters, Anna Belle Roy, James Jasper Clark, Eva Fortner, Charles Lamont Yoder, Anita Lindell and John Eldridge; numerous nieces, nephews and grandkids; step sons, Wyndell Williams and Raymond Spraker. He is preceded in death by his mother. Casket bearers for the service will be Dallas Kent, Clarkson Littlecook, Lonnie Others, Darrell Clark, Mark Roy and Joseph Kent. Honorary casket bearers will be John King and Philmore King. A traditional noon meal will be held immediately before the funeral service. The funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Sunday, February 8, 2009 at the Ponca Tribal Cultural Center. Interment will follow at the Ponca Tribal Cemetery under the direction of Grace Memorial Chapel.
